3M Hearing Protection

Milwaukee USB-Charged Flashlight
My husband has a similar Milwaukee USB-charged flashlight and uses it daily (an older model I couldn’t find online). While these have a bigger upfront cost, they easily pay for themselves in avoided battery costs.
Firewood Factory Gift Certificates

Wood-Fired Pizza Oven
I gave one of these to my husband for Father’s Day. It’s taken some trial and error, but has been a lot of fun overall. This product nudged me into finally making our own pizza dough and the kids have really enjoyed being a part of that. Once the fire has been lit and burns down, the pizza themselves only take a few minutes to cook. The affordable price, entertainment factor, and outdoor cooking experience makes this a really fun gift.
Firewood Rack Bracket Kit
These firewood rack bracket kits are great. They’re easily constructed with 2’x4′ lumber, are adjustable to any length, and are surprisingly sturdy (much more so than the comparable plastic bracket kits). We have used a couple of these at our woodlot for several years and have never had issues with them.
Fiskars Splitting Ax

Gerber Multi-Tool
My husband carries this in his pocket every single day — he’s never without it. I chuckle at how often I turn to him, asking for it. The compact and lightweight design ensures this is a practical option to carry with you daily in your pocket, purse or vehicle.
Zippo Refillable Hand Warmer
These Zippo refillable handwarmers were my go-to gift for Christmas last year. Zippo Lighter Butane Insert
When you own a firewood business, you need to carry a lighter! My husband switched to this style of Zippo lighter insert last year and has been a fan ever since. These lighters are an ideal choice for bringing in the woods for boil ups — they’re wind-resistant, fit into regular Zippo lighter cases, have an adjustable flame height, and don’t leak (like traditional zippo lighter fluid).
Norwegian Wood BookÂ
This book is a fun, easy read. We’ve gifted it to several people in the past. It offers practical advice with respect to chopping, stacking and drying firewood, but is also beautifully laid out with pictures of well-stacked woodpiles (which makes everyone swoon, right?). It’s well-written, engaging and a great choice for the firewood burner in your life.
Boot Dryer
We purchased one of these from The Outfitters on Water St. several years ago. My husband spends much of his days at the woodlot outside and often comes home with wet boots (and our outdoor kiddos can’t walk past a puddle without jumping in!) — so this machine gets consistent use. It’s also been handy for drying winter mittens and gloves. If it broke, I would replace it immediately (but would opt for the larger 4-prong option this time!). Local option: The Outfitters does still stock this product and the price is nearly the same as Amazon.
Zip Firestarters
These are really impressive firestarters. They light easily and stay lit for up to 25 minutes, even in challenging outdoor conditions. They light easily despite moisture and wind and are a great safety product for anyone that heads into the woods. They’d make a great stocking stuffer! I always bring along a few packs of these when we camp and use them to light our woodstove when I’m in a hurry. We also have these available to buy at our woodlot.
Stihl Electric Chainsaw
We had a certain degree of skepticism when these were released a few years ago, but were surprisingly impressed. The Stihl electric chainsaws are incredibly easy to use and lightweight — without compromising power or quality. They offer instant start features (no pull cord!) and low vibrations, which helps reduce user fatigue. They’re great for small jobs but can easily handle bigger tasks as well.
